Site information: Tell Hadar
Tell Hadar is located on the north-east side of the sea of Galilee, in the "midst" of the coasts of Decapolis (as described in Mark 7:31). During the Roman period, this area was in the region of Decapolis, which was a group of 10 autonomous cities that included Gader and Hippus (Susitta), which are on the east and south coast of the lake.
In the photo above is a view of the old Biblical city of Tell Hadar after it was excavated and reconstructed. At the times of Jesus the site was in ruins, and was probably a round mound. This site may fit the place of the healing miracle.
