 21. Travels, preaching and healing in synagogues across the Galilee

Site information: Korazim

Ruins of a Roman/Byzantine town, located above the north side of sea of Galilee, not far from Capernaum. The buildings are made of black basalt stones, and a grand 4th C AD synagogue was restored in the central quarter.

It is referred in the new testament as one of the cities condemned by Jesus (Matthew 11 21-22: "Then began he to upbraid the cities wherein most of his mighty works were done, because they repented not: Woe unto thee, Chorazin!...").

  Biblical References:

Mk 1:38-39:  "And he said unto them, Let us go into the next towns, that I may preach there also: for therefore came I forth. And he preached in their synagogues throughout all Galilee, and cast out devils".

Mt 4:23-25: "And Jesus went about all Galilee, teaching in their synagogues, and preaching the gospel of the kingdom, and healing all manner of sickness and all manner of disease among the people.
